Because I wanted the Rachel Yoder books to reflect the Amish
way of life as closely as possible, I have used
many actual phrases and expressions. The Amish speak "Pennsylvania Dutch" which is a
form of German.
Rachel might say< "Guder mariye!" What do you think
she is saying? Why Rachel is wishing you,
"Good Morning!"
